Reservations
We recommend advance reservations for visits between Memorial Day and Columbus Day and for weekends throughout the rest of the year. During these times, our rooms are reserved many months in advance. You may consider a visit to the Ponderosa during the early spring or late fall when the weather is nice, the wildlife abundant and the town and park less crowded. During the winter, at times, you may have the lodge (and much of the town) to yourself. We are open all year. Special note: each year for the past several years we have encouraged and received increasing numbers of early advanced bookings. Starting in late January or early February,( as soon as Christmas bills are paid), many of our guests make their summer travel plans and secure their reservations.

Ponderosa Policies

NO PETS
Approximately five per cent of vacationers travel with pets. Since the balance of travelers chose to level their pets at home or allergic to animal hair, we cannot accept pets of any kind at the Ponderosa Lodge. If you must travel with your pet, we can recommend a local kennel where you can board your pet during your visit. You should also know that pets are not allowed on the trails in Rocky Mountain National Park.

RESERVATION MINIMUMS
During the summer and over the fourth of July and Labor Day holidays we have a two-night minimum in our lodge rooms and a three-night minimum in rooms with kitchenettes. Our Green Cabin has a five-night minimum and our Riverside cabin has a five-night minimum. If you plan only a one-night visit to Estes Park, pleas do call us as we often have one-night spots between reservations.

RESERVATION DEPOSITS
Reservations require a credit card and a first-night deposit. If you wish to send a deposit, your check or money order must be received at the lodge within ten days after you make the reservation. If we do not receive the deposit, we will assume you have made other plans. We accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover for confirmations.

RESERVATION CANCELLATIONS
Occasionally travel plans change. If you must cancel your reservation, please do so no later than 30 days prior to the first night of your reservation. If you do, your deposit will be returned. If you must cancel after that deadline, you will be responsible for each unfilled night of your reservation. Be assured that we will work very hard to fill each night of your reservation. Once all nights of your reservation have been filled we will refund your deposit. If you guaranteed your reservation with a credit card and cancel after the 30 day period or fail to arrive for your reservation, we will charge any unrented room nights to your credit card.

Reservations made on short notice (less than 30 days before the arrival date) may be canceled without charge if we are notified within 48 hours after the reservation is made. You are responsible for any unfilled nights of the reservation.

Last minute reservations (made within 7 days of arrival) are considered firm. If canceled, you are responsible for any room nights that remain unfilled.

BALANCE DUE
All charges are due when you check in. If you guaranteed your reservation with a credit card, you may charge your balance to the card, or choose to pay cash. We do accept personal checks with a a valid drivers license. A $50 fee is charged for any check returned due to insufficient funds.

NON-SMOKING POLICY
Since 2002, the Ponderosa Lodge has been a nonsmoking facility. While guests may smoke on the grounds and outside the rooms, there is a $500 fee added to your account if you choose to violate the policy and we must strip the room totally, clean all the soft goods and deodorize it for the next guest.
