Ponderosa Lodge Policies
Approximately five per cent of vacationers travel with pets. Since the balance of travelers chose to level their pets at home or are allergic to animal hair, we cannot accept pets of any kind at the Ponderosa Lodge. If you must travel with your pet, we can recommend a local kennel where you can board your pet during your visit. You should also know that pets are not allowed on the trails in Rocky Mountain National Park.
During the summer and over the fourth of July and Labor Day holidays we may have a minimum night stay requirement in our lodge rooms. Our Green Cabin and our Riverside cabin have longer minimums. If you plan only a one-night visit to Estes Park, pleas do call us as we often have one-nightspots between reservations.
Reservations require a credit card and a first-night deposit. If you wish to send a deposit, your check or money order must be received at the lodge within ten days after you make the reservation. If we do not receive the deposit, we will assume you have made other plans. We accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover for confirmations.
Occasionally travel plans change. If you have made a reservation well in advance, (made in winter for summer) if you must cancel your reservation, please do so no later than 30 days prior to the first night of your reservation. If you do, your deposit will be returned. If you must cancel after that deadline, you will be responsible for each unfilled night of your reservation. Be assured that we will work very hard to fill each night of your reservation. Once all nights of your reservation have been filled we will refund your deposit. If you guaranteed your reservation with a credit card and cancel after the 30 day period or fail to arrive for your reservation, we will charge any unrented room nights to your credit card.
Reservations made on short notice (less than 30 days but more than a week before the arrival date) may be canceled without charge if we are notified within 48 hours after the reservation is made. You are responsible for any unfilled nights of the reservation.
Last minute reservations (made within 7 days of arrival) are considered firm. If canceled, you are responsible for any room nights that remain unfilled.
All charges are due when you check in. If you guaranteed your reservation with a credit card, you may charge your balance to the card, or choose to pay cash. We do accept personal checks with a a valid drivers license. A $50 fee is charged for any check returned due to insufficient funds.
Since 2002, the Ponderosa Lodge has been a nonsmoking facility. While guests may smoke on the grounds and outside the rooms, there is a $500 fee added to your account if you choose to violate the policy and we must strip the room totally, clean all the soft goods and deodorize it for the next guest.

A Damage deposit of $350.00 will automatically be charged and additional fees may apply.
